Privacy Policy

This policy reflects how SellLawBooks actually collects and handles data — see the note at the end for one thing still worth doing before treating it as final.

Who we are

SellLawBooks ("we", "us") is Law Booksellers Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 12201733, with a registered office at 692 Bradford Road, Huddersfield, HD2 2JY. What we collect

When you submit an enquiry through our website, we collect the information you provide in that form:

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• Your firm or chambers name, if given
• Your postcode, for arranging collection
• Details of the books or sets you're enquiring about
• Photos of your books, if you attach any to your enquiry — these are for identifying the books and don't typically include any other personal information

If you have analytics cookies enabled in your browser, we also collect general usage data through Google Analytics — pages visited, approximate location (country/city level), and device type. This doesn't identify you personally.

Why we collect it

We use your enquiry details to respond to you, provide a valuation, and — if you go ahead — arrange collection and payment. We don't use this information for marketing unless you separately opt in, and we don't sell or rent it to third parties.

Who else sees it

Enquiry form submissions are processed by FormSubmit, a third-party form-to-email service, which forwards your submission to our email address. Site usage data, where analytics cookies are enabled, is processed by Google Analytics. If you message us via WhatsApp, that conversation is processed by Meta (WhatsApp's parent company) under WhatsApp's own privacy terms, separately from how we handle data submitted through this website — we don't copy anything from WhatsApp into our own records. None of these services is authorised to use your data for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for 12 months after your enquiry is dealt with — whether that's a completed sale or an enquiry that didn't go ahead — then delete them.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data, where we're not required to keep it
• Object to or restrict how we use your data
• Ask for your data in a portable format
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you think we've handled your data wrongly

Cookies

We use two kinds of cookie on this site:

• A consent cookie (strictly necessary). When you choose Accept or Reject on our cookie banner, we store that choice in a first-party cookie named slb_consent for six months, so we don't ask you again on every page. This one is set regardless of your choice, because without it we can't remember what you decided.
• Google Analytics cookies (optional). These help us understand how the site is used. They are not set unless you press Accept. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics script is loaded at all.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. You can also clear cookies through your own browser settings.
