Why recycle instead of bin
A skip is the last resort, not the first option.
Every year, chambers and firms clear out print libraries that have quietly gone out of date since the move to Lexis+ or Westlaw. The instinct is often to skip the lot. Before that happens, it's worth knowing that most of it — current or not — has somewhere better to go: resold where it still has value, or passed on responsibly where it doesn't.
Current & sellable
Recent editions, complete sets, and well-known titles are valued and bought — you get paid for these.
Outdated but usable
Superseded editions still have a working life elsewhere, even where they're not worth much to us directly. If you'd rather see them donated than sold, we work with Donate Law Books, who collect free of charge and redistribute them — just say so on the enquiry form and we'll put you in touch.
Genuinely past it
Water-damaged, incomplete odd volumes, or decades out of date — still collected and recycled responsibly, free of charge.

Any edition, any condition — tell us what you have.
We buy the full range of English law reports, encyclopaedias, and practitioner texts — see everything we buy. For recycling specifically, outdated and superseded editions of any of these are just as welcome as current ones.

How much does it cost to recycle law books?
Nothing. Collection is free regardless of whether the books have resale value, and there's no charge for recycling anything we can't sell on.
Do you accept outdated or superseded editions?
Yes. Outdated editions are exactly what recycling is for — we accept them alongside current ones, even where they have little or no resale value.
What's the difference between selling and recycling?
If a set has resale value, we make a cash offer. If it doesn't — very old editions, incomplete odd volumes, water damage — we still collect and recycle it responsibly, free of charge.
Can I donate my law books instead of recycling them?
Yes. We work with Donate Law Books, who collect free of charge and redistribute usable books where they're needed. Mention it on the enquiry form and we'll put you in touch, or go to them directly.
Is there a minimum quantity?
No minimum — a single box or an entire library, both are welcome.
