What Current Law actually is.
Current Law is a case and legislation digest rather than a law report or an encyclopaedia — it summarises the year's cases and statutes rather than reproducing full judgments. First published by Sweet & Maxwell in 1947, it's issued as a rolling Monthly Digest through the year, then consolidated into a bound Yearbook once the year closes. Older runs cover UK, England & Wales, European Community, and Scotland & Northern Ireland material within each volume.

Because it's a digest rather than a primary source, it's most useful as a complete or near-complete run rather than scattered individual years — much like Halsbury's Statutes, its value comes from being able to trace a point across time without a gap in the sequence.
What affects value
Three things we look at.
Continuity of run
An unbroken sequence of years is worth considerably more than the same number of scattered volumes, since a digest with gaps is a digest with blind spots.
Yearbooks vs Monthly Digests
Bound Yearbooks hold value better than loose Monthly Digests, which are largely superseded once their year's Yearbook is published.
Condition
Ordinary shelf wear is expected and priced in. Water damage and mould are what genuinely affect the figure.
